ISTANBUL—Eight Turkish soldiers were killed and 16 wounded in clashes in a predominantly Kurdish province near Turkey’s border with Iraq on Tuesday, marking the latest in a series of attacks in recent months.
The fighting erupted shortly after dawn on Tuesday as militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, attacked a local military post in Daglica village, according to a statement from the local governorate of Hakkari. Ten PKK members were also killed by the Turkish military, the statement said.
